PATIENT MONITORS, ALWAYS ENSURE NOT TO VIOLATE CHASSIS LEAKAGE REQUIREMENTS
SPECIFIED IN UL544 AND IEC601-1. YOU
SHOULD
RECHECK YOUR PHYSICAL SETUP AND THE LEAKAGE CURRENT LEVELS TO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE AND YOUR
LOCAL REGULATIONS AFTER CONNECTING AUXILIARY EQUIPMENT.
ALL
COMMERCIAL PC EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE LOCATED OUT OF THE PATIENT PERIMETER (1.5m
around the patient!). Since
we cannot verify your setup, we cannot guarantee its safety. The hardware shown here are only means that might
help you. You ALWAYS need to make proper measurements for the leakage
requirements. It is also advised to have your
local biomed department verifying your physical setup.

Electrical safety
We can provide a RS-232 opto isolation device. Connecting this
between your PC and your patient monitor will electrically isolate them if you
connect the isolation correctly, and if you make sure there is no other electrical
contact between them. Therefore, the PC has to be located OUT OF the
patient perimeter (1.5m!)
REMARK: Always contact your local biomedical
department. This is only a tool that can help your setup to pass your leakage
measurements.

Alternatively, you can connect your PC to the mains power
supply through an isolation transformer. A standard isolation transformer of
400VA (good for standard PC's) and a smaller version (250VA, for portable PC's)
are available.
REMARK: Always contact your local biomedical department. This is only a tool
that can help your setup to pass your leakage measurements.
